In Paris, Becky sat at her desk, daydreaming about Little Eric. She remembered when he'd called her Mama over the phone. Suzanne entered. Becky asked her about her family. Suzanne said that most of her family was in the States, and she only had her son with her. She invited Becky to go with her to the nursery. Suzanne said it was really convenient being a working single mother at Forrester because they provided daycare.

Suzanne said that she couldn't imagine her life without her baby and that women who gave their babies up for adoption were selfish. Becky tried to explain that it was a great sacrifice to give a child up when a woman was poor and had nothing to offer. Suzanne said that nothing was more important than a mother's love, and the rest was just creature comforts. She felt that a mother who gave her child away was abandoning the child and that the woman was only doing what was best for herself.

Becky started jabbering incoherently about how there were lots of reasons to give a baby up for adoption and that it was a huge sacrifice. She then got a strange look in her eyes and fainted.

At the Forrester studio, Kimberly was in a photo shoot. She and Giovanni were discussing the upcoming trip to Venice.

Amber entered and asked Kimberly about her holiday. She asked why Kimberly had left the party so early. Kimberly replied that she had only gone because Macy had asked her to be her maid of honor, but since the wedding hadn't taken place, there had been no reason for her to stay. They then started discussing the Venice trip.

Giovanni asked Amber if she had ever been to Italy. She said that she didn't have time to travel because she had a baby. He said that she might not have been to Venice, but he was sure that she had traveled to Europe. Amber said that she had never traveled much outside of California because her family was poor. She told Kimberly to fill Giovanni in because she was sure that she would take great satisfaction in that. Kimberly told Amber that she didn't take satisfaction in other people's misery.

After Giovanni left, Amber accused Kimberly of only working at Forrester to be near Rick. Kimberly revealed that she knew that Becky knew a secret, and she was going to find out the truth. Amber told her to leave Becky alone and let her get on with her life. Amber said that she was a little bit insecure because her mother-in-law hated her, and no one particularly liked her except Stephanie. She said if Kimberly had any decency, she would respect Amber's family. Kimberly said that if Amber had any decency, she would tell Rick the truth. Kimberly then left.

Rick was at the café, and C.J. joined him. C.J. was anxious to hear the details about his second wedding night with Amber. Rick said there was nothing to tell. C.J. concluded that it had to have been boring. Rick said that nothing was boring with Amber. He said that she had gone to bed, wearing a leather outfit. C.J. asked about the whips and chains. Rick said it hadn't been kinky. C.J. told Rick that he knew Amber was not Rick's type, but they had a kid, and he needed to try to make things work.

C.J. left to meet some of the guys. Kimberly entered and sat with Rick. She told Rick that she'd run into Amber. Rick apologized to Kimberly for having to witness his wedding vows to Amber. Kimberly told Rick that if she thought he really wanted to be married to Amber, she would fade out of the picture. She told him that if Amber was the woman he really wanted, then he was free, but if she wasn't, then he was trapped.

Rick didn't answer. Kimberly told him that she still believed there was hope for the two of them. She said she would find out the truth, and the truth would set them free.

Kimberly told Rick that she wished he could go to Venice with her. He joked that Giovanni wouldn't like that very much. Kimberly insisted that Rick never had to worry about her. She sang him a beautiful song and insisted she meant every word of it.

Amber received a phone call from Tawny, but Amber wasn't ready to talk to her since the incident with the gun. Tawny claimed that Amber should thank her. Tawny felt that she was the main reason Amber had been able to hold on to Rick and the baby. Amber had a long talk with Little Eric. She told him the whole story of how she had become his mother, and she hoped that everything would work out for them as a family.

Suzanne took Becky home after her fainting spell. She took notice of all the pictures Becky had of Little Eric. It became apparent to Suzanne that Little Eric didn't look like Amber but bore a striking resemblance to Becky. Becky broke down and told Suzanne that Eric was her child, not Amber's.

When Suzanne pressed Becky to explain why she was so upset, she revealed to Suzanne that Amber's baby was really her son. Before she told the truth, Becky asked Suzanne to promise not to tell, but Suzanne refused. Becky then told her about the pregnancy, Amber's dead baby, and the incident with the bottle cap.

When Brooke dropped some papers off at the Forresters' home, Eric insisted that she go inside to witness Stephanie's progress. He then demanded that she end things with Thorne. Stephanie interrupted and suggested that Brooke wash the floor. Stephanie took great pleasure in standing and taking a step to show Brooke the progress that she was making. After Brooke congratulated her, Stephanie escorted her to the foyer and showed her the door.

Adam refused to give his blessing when Kimberly mentioned her upcoming trip to Italy and how she hoped to find out Amber's secret. He demanded that she forget about Amber and concentrate on work. Though Rick suggested that it was a terrible time to go on a vacation, Amber worked her charm and convinced him to look into making the travel plans to Italy.

Eric eavesdropped on Thorne and Brooke through his intercom. He was sure that Brooke was about to break up with Thorne. When Ridge entered the office, Eric told him to listen in. Brooke told Thorne that she was tired of all the animosity his family felt for her. She was not sure she could take any more.

Eric and Ridge waited for the final break, but Brooke suggested that she and Thorne go to Venice to get away. Eric was livid. He said Brooke might go over there with his son, but they wouldn't be returning together.

Tawny arrived unexpectedly at Amber's house. She offered to take care of Little Eric when Amber and Rick went to Venice, but Amber was planning to take him with them on their trip. Becky found out that Amber and Rick would be in Venice. Suzanne told Becky it was fate that her son would be so close to her. She wouldn't have to go to the States to get him back.
