Driscoll files for restraining order against fan

The Young and the Restless' John Driscoll filed for a restraining order against a woman who allegedly claimed that he'd fathered her child. Driscoll said he feared the woman would harm herself or his fiancée.

Claims of an affair, paternity questions, and a restraining order. It sounds like something ripped from the pages of a soap opera script. It is not, however, a work of fiction. According to the celebrity tattle website, TMZ, it's the real-life story of The Young and the Restless' John Driscoll (Chance Chancellor).

TMZ obtained California Superior Court documents in which Driscoll filed for a restraining order against a 27-year-old female fan named Rebekeh P. Booth, who "allegedly concocted terrible lies about the actor that nearly destroyed his relationship with his fiancée... and jeopardized his career."

In his petition for the restraining order, Driscoll referred to Booth as a former neighbor and Y&R fan who took her desire to have contact with Driscoll "to extremes, making false allegations of sexual encounters and fathering her child."

Driscoll went as far as to conduct a paternity test to prove he was not the child's father,

"To silence these rumors, to gain credit back from both colleagues and family, I willingly took and paid for the lab testing on a paternity test which knowingly came back negative with a 0% match," Driscoll stated.

Driscoll did not appear for a scheduled September 13 court date. As a result, a judge dismissed the petition.

Driscoll joined The Young and the Restless in July 2009. Prior to that, the actor appeared for several years on Guiding Light.
