Watkins' Exit Pushed Back

Though initial buzz had Tuc Watkins (David Vickers) leaving One Life to Live when his contract expires later this month, Soap Central has now learned that Watkins will be staying put in Llanview - at least for a little while longer.

Talk that Watkins would be exiting One Life to Live started earlier this year when a radio station reported that the actor was tired of commuting between New York, where One Life to Live is taped, and Los Angeles, where he resides. The Dallas-based station also reported some other unsubstantiated information that also sparked rumors across the Internet.

As previously reported by Soap Central, Watkins is at the end of his three-year contract with the ABC soap. Watkins rejoined One Life to Live in August 2003, but had previously appeared on the show from 1994 to 1996 and again in October 2001 and January 2002.

Watkins' slightly extended stay in Llanview will take him through October tape dates. Savvy soap fans know that this would put his on-screen departure some time during the November Sweeps period.

Watkins remains silent on his status with the ABC soap and a previous statement regarding his future with the show has been removed from the actor's official web site.

"Any rumor about my departure from OLTL is simply and entirely that, a rumor. I've never quite understood how rumors like these get started," Watkins stated.

Watkins will last air on November 21st.
