Tracy Melchior (ex-Kristen Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful) is taking on an important philanthropic project, and she needs fans' help!

Daytime fans know the acting side of Tracy Melchior, as she played The Bold and the Beautiful's Kristen Forrester on-again, off-again from 2001 to 2017 and has several other soap opera credits. But now, viewers will see another side of the big-hearted actress, who is producing a documentary film on law enforcement called Monochrome.

Melchior took to Twitter to announce that she has started a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project that she hopes will "bring back trust in law enforcement."

Says the actress, "It breaks my heart that there are children growing up today who don't feel the same comfort I have felt that if I was ever in trouble I could call 911 and a super hero would show up to protect me. Kids of this generation need to know that 3 numbers away is a hero who wants to help them not harm them. That is why I am producing a film to help bring back trust in law enforcement."

Melchior, whose father and husband both work in law enforcement, hopes that her documentary will help heal the divide between police and the communities they serve by allowing each side to gain some understanding of the other's perspective.

"While I am fully aware there may never be a kindred kinship, we can find more mutual respect then we see today a little at a time," she writes.

Melchior has already started filming Monochrome and is asking for help to continue with the project.

"This is the most powerful platform for getting a message across," she explains. "I truly believe that through this film we will make a huge impact."

Melchior played B&B's Kristen Forrester on-again, off-again from 2001 to 2017. Her other daytime credits include Veronica Landers on The Young and the Restless, Tess Marin on Sunset Beach, and Renee on Passions.
