Dawson placed on contract with ATWT

After a little over five years as a recurring player, fan favorite Trent Dawson (Henry Coleman) has been upgraded to contract status with As the World Turns. Dawson broke the news to fans via his official web site.

"I just wanted to let you know that, due in no small part to your efforts, the folks at ATWT offered me a contract and I accepted," Dawson revealed. "I think it's the right move for now, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this decision leads me."

Dawson joined the cast of As the World Turns in the Fall of 1999. Since that time, he has remained with the show on a recurring basis.

Despite his occasional appearances, Dawson is a fixture on the ballots of the Soap Opera Central Awards. In 2004, Dawson earned a nod as As The World Turns' Outstanding Supporting Actor and his alter ego, Henry, was named Favorite Character. Dawson is once again nominated in the Supporting Actor field in this year's Dankies.

Prior to landing in Oakdale, Dawson appeared as a priest on Guiding Light. Dawson also has extensive stage experience, having appeared on Broadway and Off Off Broadway.
